GET RICH IDEAS!!!

$$$$Get Rich Ideas$$$$$

Hi Everyone out there, here are free ideas that you could use to get rich. I have had these ideas for awhile but of course lack the ambition and smarts to pursue them much farther. Who knows you could get rich… or if nothing else use some of the ideas yourself. As I get more time I will put more up.

SIDEWAYS DOLLY

This dolly is one of my favorite inventions. The nice thing about it is the fact that you can carry real heavy sheets of whatever with it down narrow hallways. I rigged it up to facilitate the moving of heavy sheets of steel like 4 x 8 sheets of 1/4 plate steel. It has turned out to be a real handy tool around my studio. Often I need to pack stuff up from the basement via the freight elevator having this makes the job tons easier. The idea does need a little more work but has possibilities. The photos are of the earlier version. With this one the wheels were angled a little too much. I have since straightened them up and it now works better. With the older version if you leaned it back too much the sheet sags and the ends touch the ground. With the angle of the wheels changed this is not as much of a problem.

To turn the dolly you can just stop and push down on the back end of the plywood. That puts the dolly up on one wheel and then you can just swivel it around. The little small wheels allow you to shove the whole sheet sideways if you want. You just hold onto the plywood and tip the dolly up onto the sideways wheels until it starts to move. To stop the sideways movement, just pull the top of the dolly back towards you. This brings the big wheels back into contact with the floor and the sideways motion stops.

Who knows this may have already been invented or at least something similar but if not might be worth playing with. If nothing else you could make one for yourself. The angle I have on the back wheels now allows the dolly to free stand even with a few sheets of steel on it. Then you just tip it back off the little wheels and forward you go.

Here is a close up of the smaller wheels for sideways movement. I contemplated these being swivel for a few reasons.

THIS NEXT ONE IS A REAL GEM!!!  $$$

This is one of the best door stopper / holders you could get. I came up with it one time awhile back for the door to the wood shop here at the ARC. I am amazed at how well it works.

What makes this stop so good is if you swing the door open fast it hits the rubber and bounces off. If you want the door to stay open though you just open it a little slower so it gets a chance to stick to the rare earth magnet on the end of the rubber. If you have an armload of stuff as you are going out the door you only have to tap the door with your foot and it releases. Very slick!! In fact I was surprised myself at how good it works.

Of course it only works on steel doors though a metal plate could be added to a wood door. If you are into marketing then you may want to dig into this one. As you can see I just took a piece of angle iron and drilled two holes into it. One was so that I could anchor it to the floor and the other was to hold the rubber block and magnet.
Now the rubber block piece is something I scored at Princess Auto in their surplus section. I got a whole bag of them for real cheap. You may have to scout around to find something similar… One end of this rubber has a bolt embedded into it and the other has a nut. See the pic below. I got a one inch rare earth magnet and the steel cup from Lee Valley Tools. I took the cup and drilled out the mounting hole bigger and welded a bolt do it so it would thread into the rubber. Then I popped in the magnet.

Now if you are familiar with door stops most are just short of useless. Most times they are just too cheap and either break off or offer no cushioning at all. I hammer drilled a hole into the cement and installed a threaded anchor to hold the anchor which is extremely solid.

ANOTHER VERSION FOR AN OUTSIDE DOOR

Well since the first one worked so well I decided to make another one for the outside back door. The plan was to resolve a few issues with this door. The one main one was the fact the back door does not open up all the way to the wall. Thus the door stop had to be out from the wall too far and created a trip hazard. So to resolve this I put this one up and out of the way for no one to trip on.

This higher one works just great for the back door. It has been up there for around two years now and still works like new. Again the best part about it is the easy release. It makes it great for tenants here who are always bringing stuff in through these loading bay doors. Before this we had a chain that held the door open but took two hands to release. This was a real pain in the backside when you had an armload of stuff and it was raining as it does the odd time here in Vancouver.

HOW ABOUT AND EDIBLE MUFFIN PELT

Here is another idea though you have to come up with the how. The world really needs this one!!! An edible muffin pelt!! A lot of people don't know that the paper thingy that a muffin is cooked in is called a "pelt" if you have ever skinned a cat, rabbit or squirrel you would know why. If the muffin is fresh then paper thing feels a lot like a fresh skinned pelt. As you can see in this fine example the pelt has a ton of good muffin still attached to it. A total waste of good muffin. If the pelt was edible then you could just chow it all. Figure out how many muffins get eaten in a day and the profits get staggering. Plus if the pelt was sugary and tasted good you would probably sell more muffins. Since anything can be made from sugar its likely a good place to start...
